Over the last three posts we’ve been looking at challenge. More specifically why we need challenges to create prosperity. On a certain level, we all know that. So why do we fight it so much? Some reasons pop to mind:
Challenge is hard. Pumping iron to build muscle tone is hard; watching TV is easy. Striving to be better every day is hard; lurking in your comfort zone is easy.
Challenge is scary. Attempting your personal best is scary; phoning it in is easy. Taking the chance of embarrassment, ridicule or scorn is scary; playing it safe is non-threatening.
But here’s the most important thing…
Challenge is rewarding. The payoff is profound and forever. Challenge is how you grow wiser, get stronger, develop character and gain wisdom.
Go after the challenges that are worthy of the highest possible version of yourself.
