Living with Gratitude…

Don’t know if you saw the story, but there was a woman who had missed the Air France flight that crashed in the ocean killing all on board, only to die in a car crash a week later. I didn’t click through and read the story for prosperity reasons, but it’s a safe bet that it probably dripped with the irony of her death so short after escaping it in the plane crash. Certainly, there is irony in that tragedy, as there is with anyone whose life is cut short. But there is another side, one we don’t ever focus on enough…

Detours, Reroutes, and U-turns

It took getting fired for me to recognize I was born to be an entrepreneur. It took the tax authorities seizing my restaurant and auctioning it off for the unpaid taxes to help me discover my true purpose in life. It took getting shot and left for dead for me to truly live life.

(Alone time = Thoreau time.)  Those goals led to others which were developed along the way.    For those interested, here they are...

The True Meaning of Prosperity

This is the final installment in our series about money, wealth, status, and prosperity – and the many misconceptions about them.  Last time we looked at wealth so today let’s investigate what true prosperity really is.

Define Your Dash

One of the chestnuts in the self-development space is your “dash.”  Meaning the dash between the day you were born and the day you die, that is engraved on your tombstone.  The concept speaks to what you do with that dash.  If you were on your deathbed and someone asked you what you remember best about your life, I have a hunch it would not be…

Living Up to Expectations

It’s amazing how much time, energy and mental bandwidth we expend on living up to expectations.  Our own, as well as others.

Celebrate the Journey

I hope you take some time today to reflect on your progress so far. Remember with gratitude the challenges you overcame, and the lessons they taught you. The path you took blessed you in many ways, some that you’ll never even know.
