Love or Fear

The Course in Miracles teaches all decisions are made from love or fear.  Unfortunately, because of all the programming they have, most people are fear-based.  So they make decisions out of fear for the consequences instead of hope for the outcome.

You must be different…

When you face a fork in the road, don’t look at what is the worst thing that can happen, but rather, what is the best thing that can happen.

Choose love, spread love, be love.

  1. My mantra every day, “HCIGABTT?” (How can it get any better than this?) I choose love.

  3. Randy, I should never have said those things about you on facebook.  Sorry if it brought you any discomfort.  I mostly agree with the premise, that you should choose using love or at least looking toward a more positive future.

The only thing that worries me, is that sometimes fear gets a bad rap, and all emotions are a necessity at times.

Hmm, I guess we have to use our emotions and logic to make the best choices.  So, if for instance, you leave a bad relationship or a negative working environment, you are choosing to leave because you are afraid of the outcome if you stay (good fear) and looking forward to a better outcome (positive reason to leave).  IT is the action of deciding that is love, deciding means you are taking the initiative and doing the work to improve yourself, that is love.  I think the real pity is when we let fate or someone else choose for us, and sometimes this is so subtle we don’t notice it, that is when fear prohibits us.  Fear of making the wrong choice and leaving our fate up to fate, or someone else is a lack of love we show ourselves.

Anyway, I like choose love.  Choosing to be love in the world is a far more difficult path.

  6. Yes,but the human side of Being runs on fear.  Since it is a body and animal, all animals run on three instincts:self-perservation,sexual,and social.

  10. Great idea to stay focused on the positive outcome rather than the negative. It’s so simple that’s probably why we don’t do it.

  12. I was also wondering have you or would think about doing a book of the month, or what books do you have in the Gage library? I’d love to hear what you’ve been reading.

  16. Great post, Randy! Unfortunately, many people have been conditioned to believe that negative results are more likely to occur than positive ones. When you can believe that a great outcome is not only possible, but is more likely than a negative result, the fear fades away.
