People don’t become evangelists because they like you. They become evangelists because your signal helps define who they are. When someone reads a strong message, one of three things happens:
1. They reject it.
2. They ignore it.
3. They adopt it as identity.
You examine the beliefs you hold about money, value, opportunity, and your own worth. You challenge the programming that taught you to play small and begin expanding the way you see the world.
That day when you recognize that most of your limitations are self-imposed is the day you stop waiting.
You stop waiting for permission. You stop waiting for ideal conditions. You stop waiting for someone else to decide you’re ready.
I’m thinking about this a lot because my annual TRIBAL event is coming up soon, and I’ll be working with some of the most brilliant thought leaders and agents of change on the planet. And every one of them – and you if you work to make the world a better place – is going to be surrounded by people who give you permission to stay the way you are.
