Ever go to a gallery or art festival and suddenly happen upon a breathtaking painting of a sunrise or sunset? It takes your breath away because the artist has stopped time.
The artist who does such a painting, photograph, sculpture, or other work of art creates a legacy. Thousands or even millions will come after and be able to experience that particular moment in time.
But you don’t have to paint, sing, or dance to create such a legacy…
You get the chance every day. Personally I haven’t shown much aptitude for painting or drawing. I’m a writer and my canvass is the keyboard. You may be a schoolteacher, guidance counselor, church leader, scoutmaster, mayor, rabbi, coach, or mentor. You might be a yoga teacher, tutor, keynote speaker, or blogger.
Or you could simply be a best friend, big brother or sister, loving spouse, or the person who gives a dollar to a homeless person on the street. But one thing I know for certain…
Every day you have the opportunity to paint a sunrise.

Thank you for sharing this thought Randy. Today, as I ponder the coming year, build my dream board, and calm my mind for the new year’s changes, I hold the thought that I am responsible for painting my own sunrise. I have sat on the sidelines in awe of the beautiful pictures painted by others for too long. At last I know that I too am capable and worthy of creating all that I dream of and painting sunrises for others to be inspired by.

The Universe gives us so much and we need to show our gratitude to the Earth, and everyone in our lives.

I get Darren Hardy’s blog from Success Mag … says he’s always working … realized he had to cool it… takes a half an hour a day to watch a sunset… to still the mind.. somewhere in all that great Shakespeare is something about all of us madly thrusting away and for what??… the Bard wasn’t advocating for sloth… he was pointing out the madness for non stop doing.. love to all my bros and sisters for 2012!!
