Co-Creating Your Prosperity

We live in a time of constantly fluctuating economies, erratic stock markets, and government deficits. We’ll never be at a loss of tsunamis, tornadoes, earthquakes, hurricanes, and erupting volcanoes. There will always be jealous friends who begrudge your success, petty people who may subconsciously want to sabotage you, even evil souls who wish to harm you. (Hell, if you haven’t attracted some haters by now, you must be living a pretty timid life.) There will also sometimes be random events that you have no control over like a satellite falling back to earth touching down on your backyard toolshed or a Shohei Ohtani homerun landing on your windshield.

Becoming a Better Thinker

I received quite a bit of feedback from people after last week’s essay on thinking, so let’s dive a little deeper. One of the most important things you can do to access a higher level of thinking is zealously working to ensure your ideas don’t become your identity. I’ve previously written about this as volunteering for a lobotomy.

How You Grow…

Many people believe suffering is the best teacher. If this were true, the entire world would be healthy, happy, and prosperous because we all suffer greatly. No matter how much you prepare, work on yourself, and strive to avoid suffering, you’re going to get your fair (or unfair) share. We’re all going to lose loved ones, experience natural disasters, and receive bad medical diagnoses.

Make Your Moments Count

Your life is made up of time blocks. You don’t end up broke and lonely, or prosperous and loved…by accident. Those outcomes are determined, by how you spend your years, which are determined by how you spend your weeks, which are determined by how you spend your days, which are determined by how you spend your moments.

Take Charge of Your Life

Thank God it’s Monday! Let’s get after it…

F*ck Poverty!!!

Reverend Charles Fillmore shocked the religious community of his day when he stated it is a sin to be poor. If this is your first time hearing it, the statement might still shock you. But if we explore the true definition of sin, you will have a better understanding of why Fillmore made that declaration.

Deciding to Decide

About two million years ago, give or take ten minutes, the first humans appeared. All this time, we’ve been moving forward. And most of that forward progress has been made without conscious planning, predicting, being politically correct, testing on focus groups, or all of the other things we spend so much time worrying about.
