(Friday Filosophy 2/24/23)
Happy Freakin’ Friday!
Welcome to yet another edition of Friday Filosophy – the weekly postcard where I challenge you with a question, idea, or topic you may want to think about. Today allow me to suggest you rethink the way you define generosity.
The world could certainly use more generosity at the moment. Anxiety, Inc. has everyone so quick to pull the trigger, demonizing others and living in poverty consciousness. Is it really such a sacrifice to hold the elevator for someone, like their tweet, or allow that car to merge in front of you on the highway? Why do people feel it is acceptable, civilized behavior to bark a request to an employee at a counter or drive through window without so much as a smile or greeting? We can all share a little more generosity.
But generous doesn't always mean free....
Sometimes generosity means producing something with extra passion, brilliance, or love. And sometimes it means making someone pay a higher price for something, so they receive it with the respect it deserves.
You don't have to give your gift away. But the world needs you to share it.

Whenever I do one of my food and wine posts, I always send it to the person, restaurant or winery to see if they dig it or not.. nice to get the acknowledgment but I've learned to do it for yourself first and anything is gravy after.. as Keith Richards said when it came to playing Chuck Berry licks, I would do it even if I was an accountant..
