You can’t watch the video of the life ebbing out of George Karl without tearing a hole in your heart.  Likewise, when you see police officers push down the 75-year-old man and walk by him as his head was bleeding onto the pavement.  It’s also gut-wrenching to see honorable police or National Guard officers trying to maintain peace and see them getting bricks thrown at their heads.

You would probably be happy to find a four-leaf clover, see the coronavirus disappear, sports and cultural events to resume, and Spike Lee to put out a new film.  But can external things like these or others, “make’ you happy?  Or is happiness a choice?

Don’t Give Up on Hope

If ever there was a time for hope, it is now.  You may be feeling overwhelmed right now, anxious or disconcerted.  Perfectly understandable.  There’s a lot going on right now, and media and your social feeds are probably in hyperdrive to report it all to you.  But they can’t extinguish hope.
