Want to sell more, market more, or recruit more? Want to lead a movement? Want to change the world?
If you do, then you need something very important: influence. So what exactly is influence?
A good way to find out is to ask someone who has it. That someone would be Bob Burg. Bob has been influencing audiences from the platform for decades. Along with John David Mann, Bob created the Go-Giver movement, which has inspired people around the world to do more, have more and become more. And he’s influenced over a million readers with his books. Here’s how Bob defines influence:
“On a very basic level, influence can be defined as the ability to move a person or persons to a desired action, usually within the context of a specific goal. However, when accomplished correctly, this has nothing to do with cajoling, pushing or manipulating others. It does mean that you can consistently obtain satisfaction and reach your goals while building others; touching their lives in a very positive, value-based way.”
Now that is real influence. And it’s also the premise of his new book titled, Adversaries into Allies: Win People Over Without Manipulation or Coercion. I was fortunate enough to be able to read a galley proof of the manuscript. It was so powerful I immediately asked Bob’s permission to share it with a business colleague who was facing a difficult challenge. (Which he graciously assented to.)
The book launched yesterday. I strongly suggest you get it now. It’s packed with powerful examples and lessons of how to expand your influence, and do it with integrity. You’ll discover all the details here. Devour it and let me know what you think.
