I Love It When You Hate Me

Posted By: Randy GageFebruary 15, 2019

God I love it when people hate this blog.

That probably surprises many of you. Because most speakers, authors, podcasters, bloggers, etc. love it when people tell them how much they love their work.

Truth is, I do appreciate it greatly when people tell me how much my work means for them. It’s nice to know that all the hours I spend on these forums are worth it.  Particularly the podcast and this blog, because I do them for free, as a labor of love.  So feel free to, you know, send me some love now and then.  (Do you really have to make me beg for comments and shares?)

But I also love it when people hate the blog…

Because that almost invariably means I have done one of four things for the reader:

  • Caused them to question a premise.
  • Helped them surface a limiting or negative belief they didn’t know they had.
  • Made them realize that instead of holding a belief – that belief is actually holding them.
  • Caused them to think about a subject in a shocking, demanding, or uncomfortable way they’ve never considered before.

When I’m achieving any of the four results above, then I’m excelling at my job. Which isn’t pandering to your existing beliefs – but causing you to question them.

  1. Muy bueno, saber que otra persona esta de acuerdo en que todo no puede ser bueno. Gracias, por tu aporte. Es de gran valor a la comunidad, tus pensamientos así muchos no los aprecien, si mueven el piso y ayuda a despertar. Gracias, gracias, gracias, gracias, Randy. So muchs thanks for you soul valios.

  2. Hi Randy, nobody likes the truth of a situation, but breaking old thought patterns and behaviours takes me years of thinking only to end up with such a simple conclusion about a simple truth . It is also frustrating that physical results seem to happen at a snails pace, however results surely do come. I appreciate your podcasts etc as it keeps pushing us along in the right direction whilst most things will pull us back to where we have always been...NO THANKS! Great work Randy, nobody has to stay on the bus. Best wishes Graham UK

  3. Randy, Im so so happy to know that you are in that plane where you know all is love.. including hate reaction:-) its true the most precious of things we can give is our time to someone and share our knowledge , and reaction means touchdown of the message... Amidst all you are not , stay who you are..the value of that is priceless , Katy

  4. Of course you love the haters. That's because you're evolved. When people lash out and verbally flame, they are saying more about themselves than the person who triggered their reaction. An emotional outburst is a reaction, not a response. T. Harv Eker says, "High emotion, low intelligence." Ross Jeffries, a colorful dude I interviewed on my podcast says with a chuckle, "Your hate makes me stronger."
