(Monday Mojo 8/28/23)

Thank God it’s Monday!  Let’s get after it…

Some, but not many of you, are old enough to remember when we got news by newspaper, a day or two after it happened.  Just that brief time lag provided a hidden benefit:  We didn’t think every calamity was going to end the world, because we already knew the world had survived.

But today, in this age of 24-hour cable news channels and social media platforms desperate for attention…

Every possible chance is taken to frighten or anger you, convince you to click the bait on the catastrophic disaster they want you to believe threatens your existence at that very moment. As you begin another week, be mindful of this racket they're playing on you and choose not to participate.  Same thing with all those emails and text messages that may have piled up from work over the weekend.  They distort your view of the world and it can affect your mood, self-esteem, and confidence.  Even cause you to make decisions that are harmful to you.

Take a breath, turn off your devices when need be, and focus on a solid productive path for where you want the week to end up.  You'll have a greater chance of getting there.

I just commented on a guy in Medium who said all this AI hype and the world is coming to an end is a load of shit.. he compared it to last century around1907 when records started coming in and there was going to be no more demand for live music.. I said, I get so tired of these, the sky is falling types and how about the oh it was so much better in my day types,. said that to my mom when she said that, oh yeah Mom, how much better to be born in a depression followed by a world war.. at least she had the grace to laugh.. just had a dear friend die, he was 80 so it was his time, but he had a great line when he had the, oh we had to walk 20 miles to school laid on him, people we're really stupid back then, they couldn't figure out to build a school where people actually lived.. and hey Randy since you got Covid again and you think your great orange shit head leader handled Covid better than Trudeau.. why don't you take his excellent advice and drink some bleach to clear it up?? cheers Napa David
