You Bought the Bugatti, but You're Still Thinking Like a Toyota Owner

Posted By: Randy GageOctober 16, 2025

Last post I warned you you’re that once you get Money with a capital M, some people may mistake you for an ATM.  Another thing that happens, is that you now have many nice things, many of the people in your world don’t know how to treat them. (And neither do you.)  Hence the cliché, “This is why we can’t have nice things.”

As your wealth and prosperity consciousness grows, you’ll be shopping in different places, having different experiences, and surrounding yourself in a completely new environment.  This usually means you must rethink some of the people you do business with.

The car wash you take your Toyota to is not the one to bring your Bugatti Veyron.  Unless you love having swirling scratches in your paint job.

The dry cleaner you used for your clothes from Target is not the one to take your new Brioni suits to.  Unless you love having suits with smashed buttons, and disfigured collars and shoulders.

The housekeeper who dusts your “dogs playing poker” print is not the same one you want dusting the new painting you just paid $650,000 for.  Unless you love…well, let’s just not go there.

The people who maintain your new treasures aren’t the only ones who require adjustment...

Wealth and consciousness are inextricably linked.  As you evolve, so will the world around you. Each new environment will demand fresh mindsets and behaviors.  Once I had some money, I treated myself with Bally loafers, dope suits, and exotic supercars—much of which I destroyed quickly, because my consciousness hadn’t evolved enough to know how to care for them.  So you can skip that step in your journey, allow me to share some simple prosperity tips to help you ease into this new reality of a prosperous life more smoothly:

  • Once you start buying quality shoes, you’ll need to keep them in shape with shoe trees and use a shoehorn.
  • Never seek financial advice from broke people.
  • The Bentley or Rolls-Royce dealership can recommend a great car detailer to keep your investment in top shape.
  • Most salaried employees at a bank or brokerage will have no idea how to give practical financial advice to an entrepreneur.
  • Don’t ask for wellness advice from out of shape people who drink, drug, or smoke. Even if (especially if) they’re wearing a white coat and a stethoscope.
  • The clerks at high-end clothing stores can also give you advice on which dry cleaner in your town knows how to take care of quality clothes.
  • Wealth is dramatically easier to develop (and expand) as an entrepreneur than as an employee.
  • Quality suits should always be stored on a wooden hanger, curved to protect the collar and shape.
  • Prescriptions, operations, and crutches are sometimes helpful for temporary healing. True health comes from reverting to your natural state.
  • A banker or broker who earns $150k a year is not likely to be qualified to give advice for managing a portfolio of $10 million or more.

Reaching your next big breakthrough…

Okay you’ve built a prosperous life; you’ve manifested Money with a capital M.  Were Jim Rohn still alive today, he’d remind you, “Once you get a million dollars, you better learn how to become a millionaire.”

Because the real challenge isn’t managing your money, maintaining optimal health, and developing loving, empowering relationships. It’s creating the consciousness that produces those realities.

The moment you stop expanding your awareness, your prosperity starts shrinking. And that brings us to what might be the most important dynamic in your journey…

The size of the window you see the world through.

An abundant life can only occur when you’re continually growing, when your future is always greater than your past.  We must appreciate our past experiences, using them as catalysts for wisdom and growth. Likewise, we must live and celebrate the now. But that now becomes stagnant if there isn’t a vision to do, have, and become more.  If you don’t nurture your future vision, if you don’t expand the window through which you see the world, consciousness atrophies and your fortune becomes your prison. We'll break open that cell door in the next post. Until then, please share your thoughts with the rest of the prosperity nation below!

Peace,

- RG

  1. Randy, I hope you’re not disparaging my Dogs Playing Poker print. It’s from a limited run of only 55 million!

  2. Good practical advice Randy.. one of my fav movies is the remake of the Thomas Crown Affair, now there was a guy who knew how to enjoy his money.. love it when he toasts himself and hangs that Monet he swiped from the Met on his wall.. great to see a rich guy actually having some fun and enjoying life, unlike so many other movies and media of the miserable, rich tycoon.. I'm not into stuff.. love hotel suites for their lack of clutter.. if I want to see a Monet I'll go to the Met.. I'm all about experiences.. cheers Napa David

  3. Awesome article, as always. I believe my favorite line of all was:

"Because the real challenge isn’t managing your money, maintaining optimal health, and developing loving, empowering relationships. It’s creating the consciousness that produces those realities."

To paraphrase Miss Rand, "A false premise can never result in a correct conclusion."
