Okay I started this discussion a few posts back by suggesting you have to work very hard to stay broke in today’s economy. And if you’re a reader of my Randy’s Rants e-zine, you know we’ve highlighted some of the many ways people can manifest prosperity.
And the really interesting part is how people in some of the poorest environments find opportunities. Any time people are facing prosperity challenges, there are corresponding opportunities. (Think about the traffic jockeys I mentioned in Jakarta, or the guy buying foreclosures and selling them back to the original owners.)
Anyway, I been promising to talk about some of the ways people stay broke. It’s taken a little longer than I thought, because I’ve wanted to respond to many of the interesting comments and questions you’ve raised in some earlier posts. But now, for your dining and dancing pleasure, here they are.
To stay broke in today’s economy, you have to:
1. Turn down the opportunity to join a network marketing business;
2. Join a network marketing business, but refuse to take the actions that create success;
3. Believe you have no knowledge, skills, or experience people would pay you for in an information entrepreneur business;
4. Become an information entrepreneur, but price your products and services so low that you don’t make money.
5. Refuse to stop relying on a job and go into business for yourself;
6. Not be willing to learn how to prosper in the current real estate market;
7. Not be willing to learn how to prosper in the current mortgage market; or,
8. All of the above.
Of course we could go on and on with this. There are literally THOUSANDS of opportunities to build wealth in today’s “difficult” economy. In fact any time the stock market crashes, a real estate or Internet bubble bursts, inflation gets out of control, or any economic challenge presents itself, it offers a corresponding opportunity. Or ten.
Yes the herd believes these are trying times. But that’s when savvy people create wealth. When everyone is zigging, you want to be zagging. So what about you?
Are you hunkered down listening to negative news? Or are you out there proactively created the wealth you are meant to have?

Until you believe it you cannot see it. Perhaps people have to hit bottom before they are willing to change their beliefs. The few who are willing to set aside for just a moment their firmly held beliefs and try on another set have miracles appear. It is kind of like shopping. Try it on and if it doesn't 'fit' you or work for your current mindset put it back on the shelf. YOu do not make the shirt wrong for not fitting and please DO NOT BURN DOWN THE Building.
-RG,
I'm out there Zagging, yet dealing with people that are Zigging.
People are bombarded with bad news. I going to keep a positive massage and make the ziggers, zaggers.

What if you don't work in the business field? I'm a social worker and a lot of funding for programs for the poor and mentally ill have been cut, not only hurting the people who need help, but also the workers.
Well here's my answer, although you may not like it. Working for the government or your specific line of work is unlikely to ever create wealth for you. Like I said in the post, you must be willing to go into biz for yourself.
Now they has to be great opportunities if you help governments and social service agencies raise money in times like these. Most are struggling and looking for experts to help them solve the challenges they are facing. If you have that expertise, you can do well.
And if you feel you are working with clients and want to stay doing that, I recommend you do one of the other businesses I mentioned above, and get the money thing out of the way. Then you'll be able to help a lot of people, but on your own terms.
-RG
The challenge I have faced has been to choose as my own the beliefs that serve me, which required that I recognize those beliefs that I had unconsciously adopted from people and conversations around me over the years.
The challenge after that has been to hold true to the beliefs that serve me and be conscious of how those other beliefs can still creep back in if I don't watch it!

it takes a looot of reprogramming to change money/work/business beliefs.
the main obstacle is fear. Fear? FEAR OF FAILURE. what most people don't seem to know is that failure contains success. it's in-built. so they prefer complaining, earning a salary, being a victim, blaming, choosing security. but just as you say it takes a lot of work to stay poor, it also takes a lot of "failures" to succeed. and people don't want to fail.
i've been "failing" for two years now. but a couple bad grades won't stop me from getting my degree... and i can see/feel that i'm getting there. in the meantime, i finetune, tweak & practice being creative, which is fun, even if i get discouraged sometimes.
the bad economy? what bad economy?
RG,
"...on my own terms" - I like that!
Often, the motivation to help others can hide a need to be acknowledged and loved, which is what you would call lack programming.
I can see that if I do it on my own terms, I can keep my motives pure and operate from prosperity rather than need.
Thanks.

My acting career was taking a hit, as I haven't booked any new commercials in a while, so I decided to start making my own, and pitch them to companies directly. Sorta.
Through doing that, I ended up creating my own "Guerilla Marketing" campaign for one company, which said they couldn't afford it.
But then I was extremely lucky in that my best friend pitched me as the spokesperson for this gig, doing what I had pitched to the other company, and here I am in Miami doing it.
I think I'm at the level where I can see the opportunities, and act on SOME of them, and yet still procrastinate the hell out of others. I suppose it has to do with a level of belief about them or me.
And THAT is the constant issue for us all...
-RG
"I suppose it has to do with a level of belief about them or me." And which one do you think it is?
-RG
Randy,
I agree with you 100%. These days, IF...and I say IF you have a "prosperous mindset", you'll see opportunities everywhere.
I see opportunities WHITHIN the opportunities, it's crazy!
BUT, the main issue of personal development (in this case the lack of) is the name of the game.
Let's talk Wealth for a second...
I have NEVER seen a rich person not applying a belief system that creates Wealth. In other words, I always see rich people DOING the actions that support a belief system that creates Wealth ALL THE TIME! They don't THINK like poor people, so they don't act like poor people, so they are not poor people...
Making money is easy when you believe you can, know how to acquire it and actually do the actions required to get it. And this doesn't only apply to Wealth, it applies to your relationships, your physical health, your mental attitude, your relation with a higher Power, etc.
If you want to be wealthy, study Wealth! You'll see how it's possible for anyone and everyone. More so in a capitalistic country!
You want to be fit? Study fitness!
You want to have a great relationship with your partner? Study those that do and get to it!
You want to make a great cake? Study how chefs make cakes!
Getting all you want out of life doesn't have to be complicated and it can actually be easy! But the thing with getting all you want out of life is that it is ALSO easy NOT TO DO what you need to do in order to get it.
How much does it cost to read a book on wealth at your local library?
How hard is to press the "Power Off" button on the remote control?
How physically hard is to pick up the phone and make an important phone call?
Easy to do. Easy NOT to do.
For me, personal development was the key TO ALL what I am now, what I do and what I get. I decided to get educated on what the World has to offer...and boy does it have A LOT to offer us!
Dream big and take action!
Regards,
Adrian Bolosin
Hey Randy you hit a note on the first to points about the Network Marketing Business. I've been sharing my Network Marketing Opportunity to alot of collegues at work. One guy said he likes his job. Even though the company have lost the contract to operate the buses. They given drivers an ultimatum, move to the new company taking the contarct(for lower pay and no overtime) Or no job for you. On top of that if they want to come back to my company(that lost the contract) they'd had to re-apply for their jobs on probation if they get it on probationary pay for 3 years?!
Another guy I spoke to said Pele what can I do if I want to semi retire in 5 years like you? I replied you know that website link I gave to you three weeks ago have you visited it yet? His response was silience.
I guess most people prefer to be broke because of the negative proggraming. I mean I listen intently when people talk to me and the amount of complaining I hear and lack of belief people have in themselves is astounding. There's alot of clutter and garbage going through people's lives and there's a way to de-clutter the garbage. Respnding to blogs like yours meditating and visuliztion and reading personal development books by RANDY GAGE.
Hi Randy:
I am already in a good NM company. The only thing that is holding me back is some limiting beliefs that I can not even see them.
I think this the key for many people already in NM. Finding out what their limiting beliefs are and then change them or like you said to me, just been aware of them is good enough.
I hope you can do a prosperity webcast seminar soon. I sure need it.
I got the vehicle. I just need to find out what is stopping me from jumping in it and driving it.
I notice a lot of you mentioning you are in network marketing. I have another site just for that profession and a success blog on there. You can find it at: http://www.networkmarketingtimes.com/

You know, Randy, I have written out several comments on this one post and deleted them, because my thoughts keep moving around, and that stupid reason #3 you've listed up there keeps grabbing me by the throat.
So I'm at a loss here. Do I just know and believe, and 'fake it until I make it' and by the grace of God, go I?
Why is it I've been able to let go and replace other beliefs, but this one..damn.
Oy. How I would love to sit with you and actually converse on this.

Almost anything has a market. If you know how to grow tulips, weave baskets, get rid of crabgrass, or illustrate children's books, someone is willing to pay you for that information. I believe information entrepreneurs are in one of the greatest growth curves ever. A good introductory book on the subject is Gary Vaynerchuck's new "Crush It."
For you guys that are really serious about doing this, check out the home study program at: http://www.howtosellinfo.com/

20 minutes ago, I turned off the light, and lie into my bed... I just read two of your books, Randy, for three hours. I'm being in raptures about them, although I knew a lot of that before, and our thoughts were the same in most of positions.
After 20 minutes I couldn't fall asleep totally. When I understand why, I got up, turned on my computer, and now writing here (besides, in Ukraine 3:15 of the night). My feelings are overfilling me... They are so strongly, that they forced me to get up. And they say, that I extremely need to say you something, but only for you alone... And this desire caused my best feelings about that things, what you do... Don't know, could I ask about this or not, but I just will be incredibly pleased to write and sent a letter for you, if I could, which is reflect my own deepest thoughts addressed to you, Randy.
Thank you for attention, Krono.
I see it as a case-by-case basis, don't you?
Just because I see the opportunity in buying and selling beer-holding underwear doesn't mean it's an opportunity for me.
You can't take advantage of EVERY opportunity you see- there'd be no time! (limiting belief? I don't think so)
I'm sure you've passed on somethings because of THEM, and others because of YOU.
I'm into creating abundance by actively involved in MLM here in the Philippines. Last night I helped my team set up Business presentation....
I invested some of my money with silver coins...and I do 30 mis up everyday learning books like " Think and Grow rich"..
willing to learn to real estate too..

You're the 3rd person to recommend Gary's book so I'm on that one.
And, off to check out the link.
You rock, darlin'.

I have been #5 for far too long. I have made my announcement here before, on Twitter, and on Facebook, and to everyone I know. I have set the date.
Dec. 26th I will no longer be employeed by anyone other than myself.
I am currently working on my website, and about to jump head first into a business venture that has been extended to me.
I will be staying at my current job untill Dec. 26th to ensure I have saved enough to make my bills for aprox. 3 months... SO... I have got to make this happen... One way or another this is going to work. I am not backing down from this. It is scary to think about, but so damn exciting too!
I refuse to live my life out to old age and sit back and ask 'What if?'

When someone says "Knowledge is power" I say I disagree..."Knowledge backed by Action = Power". Knowing something and doing something about it are 2 different things.
I think the social proof thing is huge. I am blessed to personally know women who are making $20,000+ monthly (and much much more) in their mlm biz. Most people working a dead-end job have never met a millionaire so their minds can expand to believe that they could be one too.
Dear Randy:
You are absolutely right about this all. I was thinking yesterday about what was holding me back from the success I wanted. I have removed self limiting beliefs, and work on myself everyday.
But I haven't been able to get people to my site to buy my ebook. (I actually have other products, but I am starting with the book for now).
If you could check it out, and give me a few tips, I would really appreciate it. I actually got the idea to ask you while I was thinking...but you probably hear requests like this everyday 🙂
Something tells me I am this close to a breakthrough...but I might be missing something somewhere...
Which is where you might be able to help me see what I can't see.
Cheers!

I focus on my goals and spend most of my day heading towards them. As for the news, it's mental junkfood. It's actually poison. I've been news free for 4 years and don't miss it a bit. I don't even have TV. Most of my time is spent working or in quiet. It's helped me to expand my marketing ventures while writing 2 books of inspirational quotes. So I've attracted prosperity as I continue to share it.
Every split second there are opportunities flowing to us. It's up to the individual to tune into them.
Network marketing is the business model of the 21st century....a few months ago I could never imagine that I would agree to what I have been told...yet The Trump Network having cutting edge technology and a business model that cannot fail will be the next largest company of it's kind. The teamwork, leadership and most important products are about to become positioned into millions of households in this country-helping so many to better health physically, mentally and most certainly greater wealth while having the time to enjoy it all!!!

Thank you Randy!!!
Mr. Gage you mentioned, "Refuse to stop relying on a job and go into business for yourself". I believe THAT is what the herd subgroup "Couldn't Be Bothered" constantly continue to do. That is despite what people such as yourself and others say about getting a Plan B that doesn't jeopardize what they are already doing..! One doesn't have to look to far to see people that are making alot more money than alot of us in their current primary occupation, still being offered and seeking such things as endorsements etc., to build an additional income stream OR developing additional income streams, themselves but the response of the herd subgroup "Couldn't Be Bothered" is, "Naw, I'm good, I have A job..!" OR "It must be nice...!"
Pretty amazing...!! I believe all the other things mentioned in the article fall under relying on a job. I've also noticed that somehow that same job cannot be relied upon in certain instances. So playing the lottery or gaming at a casino is a way that is seen as "trying to make some money" to supplement their income! I wonder why the shift in thinking is made THEN...?? Moreover, somehow during this "bad economy" neither the casinos nor the lottery is hurting and it's not like one can get a FREE Mega/Super Lotto lottery ticket nor is there FREE gaming at the casino....AND YET THE CASINOS ARE PACKED...!!
Is the economy truly "bad" or are people STILL making "bad" decisions (despite what trainers, entertainers, sports figures, financial experts etc., say and do)....as they've always been and now its magnified..?
Things that make you go...HMMMMM..!!
