Thanks Randy!
That makes so much sense contrary to what so many others keep saying!
True prosperity appears to be a pretty all-encompassing state: it looks like health, happiness, money, material things, and spiritual harmony all rolled into one experience. Certainly everyone wants it. So why do so few achieve it?
Because they miss the foundation. They look at the symptoms and not the cause – the single element it is based upon…
Virtue.
That’s because prosperity is not really a state, but a moral power. (Please read that last sentence again.) Prosperity manifests itself outwardly in the state I describe above. But that is the effect, not the cause.
True prosperity is a universal force and it can only be created only by a virtuous soul...
You can’t become prosperous by hoarding money and things. A bitter person with a lot of cash and things is still a bitter person. Someone who acquires money by cheating and exploitation certainly doesn’t live in a state of prosperity.
While money and things at their essence are energy, they still don’t possess life force. By becoming a virtuous person – demonstrating qualities such as love, empathy, integrity, and spirit – you develop the soul of virtue. Prosperity is then unleashed within and through you, manifesting itself outwardly; the effect from the cause.
Contrary to what you heard in The Secret, you don’t actually attract prosperity – you create it, from the law of your being. Prosperity essentially emanates from you. Infinite Intelligence can only do for you what it can do through you. Building upon virtue, you become a force of prosperity. You exist in prosperity and you emanate prosperity, because you are prosperity.
Ain’t it great!

Yes! Yes! Yes! Thank you for this. It's hard to explain sometimes to people...that focusing on "attracting" it throws us off the real foundation of it all. Will share!
Hi Randy,
After reading this I understand you're defining prosperity as a virtue, as others like faith, hope, and charity. Did I get it right?
PS
Love the way you're focusing PROSPERITY in this one, really smart.

Wow, this is your best yet. Thank you for allowing me to learn from you. Have a great day. Don Fishell
Hi Randy.. Thank you again, great post! Can I ask you a question? You mentioned many times in your books, seminars, et, that you were quite..mmmm..miserable (is that a right word to use here?) for 30 or something years.
Have you even been a "bad person", felt that way and knew that what you were doing was against any morality and even your own conscious? If you remember such a thing, what would you suggest to a person in a similar condition to do? What would be your advice to someone who wants to change, but makes mistakes day after day, hurts people around him and then feels bad, again and again? And, if you know, please tell us - what forces people act the same way everytime, everyday, eventhough they promised themselves to change? Thank you in advance for your response (if any) and your attention.
Yes I did feel that way. And I had to wok on myself every day to develop character and self-discipline.
-RG
Randy, right, self-discipline! It's so easy to go down the road, instead of working every day. Building character does take a lot of work, step by step, every single day! Thank you.
I like to add one more ingredient into the mix, and that is self-forgiveness. Most of us can not move forward until we look at the reasons behind our painful behavior.
Rishkin, forgiveness is a very powerful act of love. I practiced forgiveness until I felt whole, peaceful and free to be the person I truly AM, and this truly is my prosperity.
Leslie
Leslie, thank you.
Absolutely brilliant statement of how it really works, Randy, and why I believe you are one of the best people teaching this stuff at the moment. The so called 'Law of Attraction' is like a surface effect of something that's much deeper - that is, the fact that we are truly creators. And the ability to create what we truly want at a soul level happens when we get ourselves cleared back to living lives full of love and faith, justice and integrity.
Yes! It IS great indeed 🙂 ... as invisible becomes visible!!!?? Thanks for sharing Randy!
Hi Randy,
What we see all started from within, and the stronger our moral compass, the more good stuff we see.
The virtuous path is a prospering path. When taking the higher road you avoid all the resistance that the low road crowd creates for themselves.
We cost ourselves so much by not doing the right thing. Sounds simple, and it is, really, but you need to intend to stay virtuous in the moment.
We all have screw ups but keeping your attention on virtue helps you overcome these mis-steps quickly and keep creating a prosperous life.
Thanks for sharing your insight Randy!

It's each and every person's moral duty to get rich.
Deep powerful thoughts, I'm going to read it again!
One of the most profound posts I have read of all time! I am prosperity, and therefore, I attract that which I am. Beautiful, thank you & namaste. Much love rocksta.
Yes Randy, absolutely great. Inspiring as always. 😉

Hi Randy
Thank you for clearly explaining it. Am still in the process of unlearning some of the the 'principles' taught which could have been a deterent to financial progress because of 'wrong guilt'. So, now I have the privilege of learning from you correctly and not self sabotage.
Many years ago I had a feeling that if we are not full time missionaries, we have missed God or at best second class citizens.
Genial!!
Randy,
You hit the bullseye on this one!
So many people out there (and yours truly for quite a long time) have been using "The Secret" to try to attract (coax) things into their life.
Affirming, visualizing, reciting "prosperity mantras", etc...
All without doing the most important thing---which is to change their BEINGNESS.
And Beingness is where it all starts and ends
or--as you elegantly posted Virtue.
Thanks for an excellent reminder.

In the years gone by, we would hear clients coming to our holistic wellness centers saying
"I know why this relationship or circumstance is xyz, I read the answer is this or that book."We would smile, and say"look within".
I so appreciate the clarity here of your words Randy: "we don't attract prosperity we create it".Thankyou!
Hi Randy!
It's more than great! It is simply wonderful. It is a pleasure to read your posts.
This is really great stuff Randy. Thanks so much.. I'm truly grateful.
Virtue and giving along with Gratitude must be our foundation for Prosperity. Without virtue or integrity, the lack of humanity can only lead to more lack in our lives. Would you agree? And there's also compassion and forgiveness of ourselves and others that are necessary.
This is real food for thought and I truly appreciate the reminder. We all grow by your guidance and regular reminders.
When one gathers what you've written here, never stops smiling... yes, it's that simple! Thanks, Randy
Give and you will receive. Just as profound no matter who says it. Randy or J....
Part of me wishes I didn't read this, because now I need to read it again and print it out and contemplate it..And I got stuff to do!!! 🙂
The other part of me knows I read it so I can better understand it and I appreciate your brilliance.

Love this post, have a question: You suggest that we demonstratate " love, empathy, integrity, and spirit" I know what "...love, empathy, (&) integrity...." are, but not "...spirit..." Please explain this use of the word "spirit" Thank You!

So powerful!! I have seen this come into my life recently! Thank you for putting words to my feelings!!
"you don’t actually attract prosperity – you create it, from the law of your being. Prosperity essentially emanates from you."
Love that! I didn't read all the comments, so if I'm repeating something someone said, above, sorry. But this reminds me of the story in the Bible of the woman who was sick for 20 years. She touched Jesus' cloak. The Bible says that he felt the "virtue" flow out of him, which healed her. I always thought the word virtue here was strange. Maybe it wasn't so strange after all.
So, then, is the goal to become virtuous? Is that really the deal in a nutshell?
Thanks Randy!
