Deciding to Decide

(Monday Mojo 2/13/23)

Thank God it’s Monday!  Let’s get after it…

Since about three and a half billion years ago, organisms have survived and developed in nature. About two million years ago, give or take ten minutes, the first humans appeared.  All this time, we’ve been moving forward.  And most of that forward progress has been made without conscious planning, predicting, being politically correct, testing on focus groups, or all of the other things we spend so much time worrying about.

Actions like scheduling your calendar, setting goals, and discovering your vision are great tools.  Just make sure you use the tools and they’re not using you.  Giving too much emphasis to getting it right and doing things perfectly can kill your creativity and sabotage your growth.

There is one special project that you’ve been thinking about for too long.  Today is the day to simply decide to go for it.

Peace,

- RG

  1. Love the post Randy.. I've always been slightly envious of people who love what they do.. there's this great scene in the Chuck Berry movie when the director asks Keith Richards what was it about Chuck's music that changed your life.. and it's like Keith floats back to 1957 and says, something about the total sound that came off the needle, all of them, I think the first one I heard was Johnny B Goode.. that's when I knew what I wanted to do.. I didn't dream I could make a living at it, but I would do it even if I was an accountant.. probably would have been better off, he finishes with a smoke filled chuckle. cheers David
