Change, we know it's coming whether we like it or not. Let's embrace it rather than complain and whine about the inevitable. 🙂 Everything happens for a reason. 🙂
What a great response on the last post about perspective! Know where this really comes into play? By how you deal with change…
Most people hate change. Look at the worldwide uproar every time Facebook or Empire Avenue do a little format change.
Here’s the interesting fact: If a change is seen as an ending, we usually hate it. (Losing a job, a program ends or even death.) When change is viewed as a beginning, we usually like it. (Getting a new job, discovering a new restaurant, having a baby.)
But here’s the fascinating thing about that interesting fact…
In reality, EVERY change offers both an ending and a new beginning. It is your view of the world – your perspective – that determines whether or not you see that.
I was so depressed when the tax authorities seized my business. But if that didn't happen, I would still be slaving 14 hours a day in a dead-end restaurant. And I can truly say that about every “bad” change that happened to me.
And so can you.
Just some of you don't know it yet. But it’s true. Every change and every challenge offers an opportunity...
If you’re looking for it. Are you?

Well one of the greatest books about change is "Who Moved My Cheese" by Spencer Johnson, M.D. If you haven't read it, it's a must for everyone and its only about 50 pages or less. The one thing we can all be sure of in Life is change; the better prepared we are for it, the easier it gets. When I look back and the winding road called my Life it's filled with change and continues. I embrace it, know it's coming and look forward to the miracles I will receive, too. And when the change that's arrived isn't what we hoped, the best thing we can do is to make the best out of it! Thanks Randy.

I am already working on it:
3 new challenges keep me mega busy! One is even more challenging than the other. And they´re all totally different. Means: not at all connected to each other.
Why?
Life would be too boring when only working on 1 end. I did that before. And such loss is really hard to take - but when you work on different stages, like Warren Buffett suggests - to invest in various objects - there is not much loss to take, if at all.... 🙂

Amen!
A good question to ask during a "bad change" might be "what's good in this?" and if our initial response is to say there's nothing good about this then a better question might be to say "well what could be good in this?"
It's better than selling our self on why it sucks.
Ask a better question, get a better answer.

I hate this topic. My therapist said I had adjustment disorder, which is a polite way of saying you don't handle change well at all. I freak out every time something changes. When my son went to Kindergarten, which was last year, I thought I would have to be committed. I went around crying "They took my Baby!!".
Then I got over it though. But it took some time. Now, I actually think he and I are closer! (Although sometimes I still feel like the school stole my baby.)
Anyway, I don't care how you look at change, good or bad it is stressful.
@Annieb Maybe you´re the one who should not change her life111? ....just find out what works for you and turn away from things which do not work for you. We all do it this way!! If you found your place - stay 🙂

Previously, I lose heart and despair, if a series of setbacks and disappointments haunted me for a long time! and now - I believe that behind all the difficulties and setbacks should be a great happiness, success and much love! I see it, and wait!

So true, every change has a beginning and an end. My study of Buddhism has really helped me accept change in my life much better. I still have some resistance when faced with it, but really studying the ideas of impermanence, attachment and related teachings definitely has helped me shift to a more positive perspective on the matter.

Randy, I love the positive outlook you include in all of your posts. Like you, I faced some unhappy changes that later proved to be good and or even significant turning points in my life. Keep on sending out those positive "vibes!"
