How Your Expectations Create Your Outcomes

Posted By: Randy GageJuly 6, 2009

It is simply amazing how expectations mold and create certain results.  People who go into a movie expecting to love it usually do.  Democrats who watch a debate usually think the Democrat won.  Interestingly enough, Republicans experience the same thing.

People who buy a product thinking it will help them invariably feel they got their money’s worth.  Yet people who “test” a product, because they think it’s probably a rip off usually have their fears realized.

Some people come to my seminars believing they already know everything I’m going to cover.  They come to hang out, see me, and laugh at my jokes.  Others come expecting to learn powerful new ideas, and get their thinking challenged.  Yet others show up expecting me to deliver the breakthrough they need to completely transform their life and prosperity.  The interesting thing is almost everyone gets their expectations matched.

So what’s the lesson in that for you today?

  1. The lesson is that we create our own realities. Intention is incredibly powerful. What we intend, we create. It's very important to set our intentions purposefully. I know that I intend to create the beautiful life of my dreams... And you know what, that's exactly what I'm living!! It's as simple as that. My mission is to help more people to understand that. We are all so incredibly powerful! I want to help people to tap into their power so that they are able to live more fulfilling lives filled with passion, inspiration, courage, love, peace & massive abundance!! Make it a beautiful day my amazing friends!!

    Love & Abundance,

    Bela

  2. The lesson is always to be open for everything new and this will change our life day after day - better then yesterday.
Always to expect something good and to feel that it will improve your life to the next level

    Than You Randy.

    Carpe diem!!!

  3. The lesson is... "when you change the way you look at things the things you look at will change"

Look for the things that you want in life with faith and they will show up

    Much love,

  4. It all comes back to your own thought process, there can be no doubt that we are powerful creators, and yet it can escape us unless we are actually aware of our habitual thoughts.

Becoming aware of the limiting beliefs that produce those habitual thoughts.

If you think you can, you can. If you think you can't, you can't either way your your right 🙂

  5. As others have said, and also Alan Cohen, "Conditions don't create consciousness, but consciousness will create conditions"..

It's absolutely amazing how powerful our thoughts are when it comes to manifesting. I'm working with Univera, the most amazing nutraceutical company in the world, and those people that are skeptical of the life renewing ability of AgelssXtra don't get to experience it! And what a shame that is!!

    Thanks Randy!

  6. one day while sitting at my desk with the TV on in the background there was a program about physics when in the middle of a thought i was stopped in my tracks when the narator mentioned something about particles so small we cannot see them without this super-duper (ok he didnt say super-duper) high powered microscope, and even with this high powered microscope we still cant see the particle untill we think about it. Once we stop thinking about them the particles disapear. i was like WHOA No F'n WAY!!!!

i think he was talking about (The observer effect) which states that something does not exist in its physical form until it is actually observed by someone. Hence the timeless question, ~does a bear shit in the woods?~ According to physics it is only a possibility, or more specifically, an infinite number of possibilities, and once it is observed, all of those possibilities collapse into one physical manifestation, which is what is actually seen. The mathematical equations of quantum physics do not describe actual existence but rather they predict the potential for the existence.

I think the same can be true with success in peoples lives, success equations do not describe actual existence of success, but rather the potential for something to exist that we label as success. Once you know what the thing is that you label as success, hold that thought in your mind, the forces of the universe then allow those particles that suround you everyday everywhere you go to take shape and form, creating for you the reality you held in your mind. Once you witness and experience your success, all the other possibilities collapse into one physical manifestation, which is the success you are experiencing, what is actually seen and experienced.

Quantum theory basically says fundamental particles are empty of inherent existence and exist in an undefined state of potentialities. They do not become real until a mind interacts with them and gives them meaning.

Simply put, you get what you are looking for or what you consistently focus your attention on you manifest in your life. The particles for failure and success exist every day in your life, what you focus on, and think about interacts with those particles and produces your current reality.

    or something like that?

peace out... have a great day!

  7. What you expect to happen usually happens, good or bad, so expect and focus on good things and your life will become more abundant with wonderful joys! I have started weeding the bad expectations out, and I will admit, at first I thought that all my thoughts were good. I was challenged by Randy's 5 book series and started to realize that I had more negative thoughts than I had imagined....lol. Anyway, after working on myself, I am getting and will continue to get way better at thinking & expecting the best in my life! So the lesson for everyone is to start expecting things to be better...anyway, what will it hurt to be more positive?

  8. Have great expectations!

Randy, although what you say its true, I have also seen that expectations, are also the main driver for some frustrations.

I don't know if I am talking about expectations created by others upon us, like "The movie is AWESOME!!" and then you go see it with Great Expectations, and it fails to fulfill them... Same thing happens in NM when the sponsor creates huge expectations on the new member, only to see those expectations fail, and the new member quit.

So, to dove-tail your message with my comment, expect great things of yourself, and your abilities, but sometimes not expecting much from a situation makes it easier to see all the great things in it, so you don't get caught up in comparisons with your self-made expectations..

    Have a wonderful day everybody!

  9. I understand if you look at the glass half full rather than the glass half empty your outlook on life will be more cheerful than the reverse.

Given the old saying that perception is reality for most of us, does this not show that your perception of what is happening to you and around you is your reality and not necessarily true?

Or does your perception lead you to act differently, react differently and therefore affect your relationships with other people positively so that their reaction to you is more possitive?

The mystical reaction with the universe or the spirtual world notwithstanding (and I think a lot of that perception has to do with explaining the unexplainable because of our scientific upbringing), it is our interaction with other people that governs our lives more than any other force.

    Just food for thought.
