Intriguing words
Going through a bit of self doubt and feeling depleted lately
We all hope to find our place in the world, a life with meaning, doing work we love, surrounded by people who call us to become the highest possible version of ourselves. And then there’s the place we end up…
How do so many people jump the shark and end up with lives not just of quiet desperation, but loud misery? I could write a whole book on the subject. (Well, actually I did.) More importantly, if your life isn’t going the direction you like, how can you hit the reset button? In most cases, it begins with selfishness.
Let me take a guess about you…
I bet you take better care of your kids than you do of yourself. If your parents are elderly, I bet you take better care of them than yourself. And if you have any pets, I’ll bet the rent that you take better care of them than you do yourself.
As I wrote in this post, living a prosperous life requires making a certain degree of selfishness your moral prerogative. Not self-centered vanity or greediness, but healthy self-care. Making sure that your own needs are met first, so you’re better able to help others and the greater good. To accomplish this begins with mindfully pondering what your life would look like if you took better care of yourself. Allow me to suggest a few questions to ponder…
Please. Take better care of yourself. You up for that?
Peace,
- RG
