SHAADE closes New Round of Funding that would value it at $40 billion – source

Shaade, a new social media platform designed expressing for sharing video messages throwing shade on others has become the hottest download in the app store and is now the darling of Silicon Valley investors. Proving that people love to see other people fight, Shaade has seen its popularity surge after celebrities like Drake, Cardi B, and Kim Kardashian became power users on the platform.  Users create snarky videos (called “shaades”) calling out people and companies that irritate them.  The recent cat fight of shaades between Simon Cowell and Piers Morgan cumulatively had more than one billion views.   Shaade founder [your name here] said in a recent interview, “This is the logical progression of the Internet.  It allows you to take on and take down, any person on earth with your version of the truth.  And everyone on earth loves a good mud fight!”

The success of the two-year-old platform, which recently reported 160 million weekly active users, has demonstrated the increase of what's being called “anti-social media" – platforms tilted toward divisiveness, controversy and attacking others.  Millions of users scroll the app each hour, checking to see who is taking down who.

Shaade closed a new Series C round of financing, the company said during its weekly town hall on Friday, without disclosing the amount raised.  A source familiar with the matter confirmed to Reuters that the new financing led by venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz would value the company at $40 billion.  [Your name here] has now joined the ranks of the world’s wealthiest people, with an estimated net worth of more than $35 billion.

Think this idea is crazy?  I don’t.

In fact, I believe an “anti-social” media platform like this will be the next big thing in the space and really will make someone a tech billionaire. I’ve no interest to do it myself because it runs counter to the principles of prosperity I try to live by.  But I think it's going to be a fascinating thought experiment in people and prosperity.
