Some of you still chafe when I talk about flying the Concorde, staying in luxury suites, and going on PRADA shopping sprees. But you know what?
There are a lot of other reasons to be rich. Some very simple pleasures in life that come when you have enough money to enjoy them. So forget about garages full of exotic sports cars, vacations around the world, and designer togs for the moment. Stepping out of the shower and grabbing a huge, thirsty, soft towel to wrap around your body.
Ordering from the left half of the menu, instead of the right. (You guys in China, reverse this.)
Sleeping on high thread count Egyptian cotton sheets that simply caress your body.
Being able to write the check that funds the church, temple or synagogue project that needs to be done.
Getting a whole car from the rental car company instead of half a car.
Sending your nieces and nephews the coolest holiday presents they ever got.
Wearing real leather shoes that fit your feet like warm butter, instead of those plastic Payless shoes, or clunky Florsheim ones.
Calling your loved ones long distance without worrying about the length of the call, or whether you are in the low rate window.
Ordering from the pizza place you like, not the one you have coupons for.
Getting the nice view from your room, not the parking lot of the Denny’s.
Yes sunsets, hugs and walks on the beach are still free. But there are literally millions of other simple pleasures that can bring joy to your life, which still cost money. And the more money you have, the more you can experience.

I totally agree with you, Randy. Being rich is not only about exotic cars and vacations. It's even a great deal about your inner peace, having a stress-free life, not fight with your family about money thus having a great relationship with your family, having freedom, being healthy (because having stress and thinking a lot causes sicknesses and illnesses, and here you are having money, that means most of your stress and thinking will be gone :).), and a whole lot more of other stuff which I think can fill a whole book :).
Robert Kiyosaki is not a particularly flashy rich guy but he does say he spends a fair bit on extra health perks like massage, accupuncture, etc... there's a good reason to be rich, you can look after your health a lot better...
Being able to take my whole family on great trips. Including the air fare and the 5-star hotel. I am talking 3 grown children with their children here!
While noblesse oblige is an important reason for paying the price, why else would one do that if not to enjoy hotel suites, two residences, helicopters, doing anything and everything for the people in your life that you love, having new experiences, loved the towel and sheet thing, I 100% agree with that, and shoes, big on that too along with handbags. Simple things are hugs, smiles, kisses, perfect weather, the beach, feeling loved and understood, ocean breezes, decadent chocolate, watching children play, the smell of garlic and butter when you are cooking, etc.
A few of mine would be: a facial, massage and buying gifts for friends/family "just because".

You hit the point... people are hung up on the money... and they don't see the benefits to themselves and to those they love.
One of the other benefits is being able fly to Europe or around North America to share a few ideas with fellow speakers without worrying about who is going to pay it... our privilege to be in the position to gift them...like you did in Amsterdam in March...
People see what they want to see... but some, see beyond and see the real benefit....
For me the number one is having TIME for spending developing my crazy ideas or playing as much tennis as I want during the day, without feeling guilty of not working!!!!

Money is freedom. It allows you to do, have and be more. "Little" - of course the universe doesn't know big or small, only people do - things cost money too. We often don't realize how handcuffed we are due to a poverty consciousness.

Randy last week my best friend and mentor suddenly passed away. As I was hurting for his wife I started thinking about the fact that he built a very large network marketing business that is built on the efforts of other people like me. Because he was what most would think rick his wife is able to morn her loss and focus on taking care of things and not worry about the mortgage or going to work. He built a business that will out last her.
That to me is worth so much more then any other reword of success.

I like this and I like nice things and I like being able to really nice things for people who have never done those things. Like take my kid to the Plaza Hotel and let him order room service. Take Joey to see Barbra Streisand and now build a college education for my granddaughter.
I also would like to spread the word of God through my church and lift the consciousness of the world. It would be great if people could feel the love instead of the hate.

Randy- can you help me with something? I noticed when I was reading your post that I felt like I always have to CHOOSE where to put my money.
For example, you were writing about an expensive suit, but also writing a check to a charity (or whatever- the two examples don't matter).
My brain sees it as having to choose, and I know you always talk about "Both", but it seems out of my experience that I can do both without taking from one or the other.... does that make sense?
I can write a $10,000 check to help my grandmother's knee replacement, or I can spend the $10,000 on a new suit to wear to my reunion. Y'know?
Please put it in practical terms versus "It's all infinite"; that doesn't translate to me yet.
We only have to choose when we don't have enough creativity to make it both 🙂
Initially we have to choose but it is always about asking how can I do both then acting on the ideas. Then we can have both.

Bones...man....you gotta learn to love yourself bro. I mean, I get it, I do, you can't help but have part of you thinking in the back of your mind about how horrible some people around the world have it..so, you always get caught up in that connundrum(sp?) "i have this extra money, I could splurge OR I could be a responsible human and help someone."
The thing is, everyone has the same ethers to create with. Everyone has an opportunity to shape their environment Into prosperity, or die trying. True, many aren't handed the tools as easily as some and many are never educated on their own ability to affect change. So, my belief is that if there Is to be a "social responsibility" for those with material wealth, it is to set he example, and educate. You should teach yourself what it feels like to live high on the fruits of your own labors. To live high while contributing to the livelihood of the cobbler who makes $3000 leather shoes, the textile company who fashioned that fabulous egyptian cotton bedroom set, etc. Then, once you have set this example, that such abundance does exist in the world for anyone who wishes to achieve It, then you must teach this.
Well if you have $10,000 and stop there, it's finite. But if you ask yourself what is the idea I need to manifest another $10,000...or $100,000, then it's infinite.

Totally get that you can keep expanding- I really do, and I have been; that's why I have done a ton of the things I want to in life.
Instead of the choice between "altruism" and "selfish", because that's not what I mean, what about a Suit for $100,000, or a car for $100,000- you have to CHOOSE, right?
Simple pleasures? Get a massage, go to a live concert, attend to a seminar, buy presents for me and my loved ones, buy flowers
Being able to wake up with the family, and actually stay with the family and not HAVE TO go to a JOB...just over broke!

Randy, cool post. It's funny, I just went out and bought a brand new set of quality bath sheets, bath mats, hand towels and face washers on the weekend so I could replace all the other odds and ends I have, even though some of them are nice. It feels great! I had to hide them from my mother when she came over on Fathers' Day though. She's got a WWII scarcity mentality and once gave me home-made oven mitts made out of my Dad's old overalls!!! I'm still not comfortable with being myself in front of her - it's something I'm working on. Just before I went overseas I bought myself new bed linen with the softest sheets and when I got back I bought myself some matching cushions. I enjoy making my bed every morning because it looks so beautiful. The most expensive shoes I ever bought have been the most comfortable and I'm just getting them resoled for the third time now - definitely good value for money. I can't wait to experience my first pair of custom, hand-made shoes. I've also been learning to order from the left hand side of the menu. I'm giving myself permission to budget enough to eat what I like when I do go out and when I'm on a date, I now don't even look at the column on the right. It's one way of teaching myself that I do deserve the best.
Some other stuff I'd love to do is invite my friends to dinner at a lovely restaurant for my birthday and pay the whole bill, cater for my parties (no BYO!) and get more massages. I'd also love to throw down a deposit on a house for my sister - she'd weep tears of joy and gratitude.

Even if hugs and kisses and sunset walks on the beach are free, being able to fly to the cleanest beaches to hug and kiss your loved one during sunset surely enhances that "free experience".
I'm a teacher, so if I'm rich, I don't have to make teaching decisions based on my school's financial needs. I can base my decisions based on teaching ideals which I can fund myself if need be!
If a person has a small dream it is easier for him to believe that he can achieve it. But I guess that that person is not using all his potential abilities. He could do better if he had a big dream.
Infinite money buys me time & freedom. The simple pleasure I enjoy is the choice to do WHAT I want, WHEN I want, with WHOEVER I want.

I totally agree with you, Randy. Being rich is not only about exotic cars and vacations. It's even a great deal about your inner peace, having a stress-free life, not fight with your family about money thus having a great relationship with your family, having freedom, being healthy (because having stress and thinking a lot causes sicknesses and illnesses, and here you are having money, that means most of your stress and thinking will be gone :).), and a whole lot more of other stuff which I think can fill a whole book :).
Robert Kiyosaki is not a particularly flashy rich guy but he does say he spends a fair bit on extra health perks like massage, accupuncture, etc... there's a good reason to be rich, you can look after your health a lot better...
Being able to take my whole family on great trips. Including the air fare and the 5-star hotel. I am talking 3 grown children with their children here!
While noblesse oblige is an important reason for paying the price, why else would one do that if not to enjoy hotel suites, two residences, helicopters, doing anything and everything for the people in your life that you love, having new experiences, loved the towel and sheet thing, I 100% agree with that, and shoes, big on that too along with handbags. Simple things are hugs, smiles, kisses, perfect weather, the beach, feeling loved and understood, ocean breezes, decadent chocolate, watching children play, the smell of garlic and butter when you are cooking, etc.

My brain sees it as having to choose, and I know you always talk about "Both", but it seems out of my experience that I can do both without taking from one or the other.... does that make sense?

I mean, I get it, I do, you can't help but have part of you thinking in the back of your mind about how horrible some people around the world have it..so, you always get caught up in that connundrum(sp?) "i have this extra money, I could splurge OR I could be a responsible human and help someone."
The thing is, everyone has the same ethers to create with. Everyone has an opportunity to shape their environment Into prosperity, or die trying. True, many aren't handed the tools as easily as some and many are never educated on their own ability to affect change. So, my belief is that if there Is to be a "social responsibility" for those with material wealth, it is to set he example, and educate. You should teach yourself what it feels like to live high on the fruits of your own labors. To live high while contributing to the livelihood of the cobbler who makes $3000 leather shoes, the textile company who fashioned that fabulous egyptian cotton bedroom set, etc. Then, once you have set this example, that such abundance does exist in the world for anyone who wishes to achieve It, then you must teach this.
Well if you have $10,000 and stop there, it's finite. But if you ask yourself what is the idea I need to manifest another $10,000...or $100,000, then it's infinite.

Randy, cool post. It's funny, I just went out and bought a brand new set of quality bath sheets, bath mats, hand towels and face washers on the weekend so I could replace all the other odds and ends I have, even though some of them are nice. It feels great! I had to hide them from my mother when she came over on Fathers' Day though. She's got a WWII scarcity mentality and once gave me home-made oven mitts made out of my Dad's old overalls!!! I'm still not comfortable with being myself in front of her - it's something I'm working on. Just before I went overseas I bought myself new bed linen with the softest sheets and when I got back I bought myself some matching cushions. I enjoy making my bed every morning because it looks so beautiful. The most expensive shoes I ever bought have been the most comfortable and I'm just getting them resoled for the third time now - definitely good value for money. I can't wait to experience my first pair of custom, hand-made shoes. I've also been learning to order from the left hand side of the menu. I'm giving myself permission to budget enough to eat what I like when I do go out and when I'm on a date, I now don't even look at the column on the right. It's one way of teaching myself that I do deserve the best.
Some other stuff I'd love to do is invite my friends to dinner at a lovely restaurant for my birthday and pay the whole bill, cater for my parties (no BYO!) and get more massages. I'd also love to throw down a deposit on a house for my sister - she'd weep tears of joy and gratitude.
