I think sometimes fear is that good healthy rational part kicking in to help you avoid trouble.
Are you really afraid to do something? Good. That tells you a couple things…
First, that the thing you’re afraid of is worth doing. And the greater your fear is of something, the more important it is for you to do it.
Because that fear is really your self-sabotage mechanism kicking in to thwart you. That fear is the worthiness memes you’ve adopted, subconsciously telling you that you’re not good enough, or don't deserve it enough.
What you think is fear of failure is much more likely to be subconscious fear of success.
Don’t fear fear. Fear the absence of fear.

Fear isn't just quaking in your boots, fear is filling up your day with 'stuff' that lets you not do what needs to be done! Cut out the time wasters!!

Fear is limitless... But also possibilities and human mind are limitless, so everyone should try to face fear!

And then there's the famous "What you resist, persists".. We ALL resist.. So if we ask ourselves, "What are we willing to do to release the resistance", it usually boils down to fear in various incarnations. Steve Pressfield's "The War of Art" does a great job talking about this.. BOOM!

Recognition and realization is the first step but nothing can get you going and getting past it except yourself.

Fear is something that can drive people to beating challenges. Without fear there would be no flight or fight response.

Without fear, the human race would have never have made it to where it is. The important thing is to dismiss the irrational fears and calculate the risks in real danger before making a decision!

Anger & other negative emotions are based on fear...
and sometimes we don't take appropriate actions when we are in fear, anger, etc
instead they can be used to motivate you to change...
do not repress negative emotions & fears...
don't go to bed angry...
recognize them, and figure out if it is a false belief causing them...
change your story, thoughts, reactions...
Jesus was angry twice in the bible, but didn't sin...
so not all anger is sin...
but most anger is usually based on false beliefs.
so maybe most fears are based on false beliefs.
we are born with 2 fears (loud noises & falling)...
the rest are learned & can be unlearned...
like our false beliefs, thoughts & reactions
Excellent..
I think fear in ones life means you are growing..
Remember "Successful people make decisions quickly, unsuccessful people make them slowly"
In your life your desires or your fears will take over.. what will it be?

In the 19th year of horseback riding with fear as a constant companion in the saddle with me, I decided I'd had enough. I told myself "Susan, stop being a wimp" and threw my leg over my horse. 20 seconds later I was lying on the ground, with a shattered elbow and a deep gash in my arm that lead to a life-threatening infection (3 weeks in the hospital and 8 weeks at home). I got back on soon after, then a few months later began to feel fear so overwhelming that I didn't want to ride any more. The psychologist I worked with asked me if I'd ever thought of fear as a "gift to keep me safe." Clearly I had not. I had fought it for all those years, hating it. Since then I've reminded myself of this many times. Fear IS a gift--it makes you stop and think, it makes you figure out the risks, it makes you weigh your choices and it probably saves you from from pretty dangerous outcomes. Anyone who proclaims some version of "feel your fear and do it anyway" has never been seriously hurt. Sure, fear of failure doesn't seem like a big deal--until you get into specifics. If you're afraid of failing in a business endeavor because that failure is likely to cause to poverty, it's worth it to think of fear as a gift.

@Susan Trivers If fear was a gift, the many would miss out..If you deeply liked someone but was afraid to approach them every time you saw them, someone else ends up with him only to find out he really liked you as well, is that a gift? I think wisdom allows us to make healthy choices.
